some things just take time
some things cannot belong in a snap your fingers, press the button, one click app world
Quality Time comes in lots of unit packages
the once-a-week hour
the multi-decade once-a-year week
the fortnight fulltime fury
the big biennial all-day binge
And Time comes in several delicious flavours
the dawn walk with nature
the deep late night solitude
the mid morning assorted people and beverage pause
the labouring hours that pass without measure
Time, cast in such pure ingots
is it the only currency that can measure love?
how long would you wait?
How much time would you give?
How treasured is each moment?
and how would an eternal God be known or loved except to enter time?
some say the great measure of God’s love was in submitting to death-
– death the terrible arbiter of time indeed
some say the great measure of God’s love was in seeing death
and raising it two lives
God’s and ours.
If death is unwound, that fearful clock –
then I say let the great measure of God’s love be in the gift of each
very present moment
